"Can you help her? I hear her when I’m trying to sleep."
"I wish I could. You’re not the only one, Amelia Pond… I hear her all the time."
"…to me, Van Gogh is the finest painter of them all.Certainly, the most popular, great painter of all time, the most beloved. His command of color the most magnificent. He transformed the pain of his tormented life into ecstatic beauty.Pain is easy to portray, but to use your passion and pain to portray the ecstasy and joy and magnificence of our world…no one had ever done it before. Perhaps, no one ever will again. To my mind, that strange, wild man who roamed the fields of Provence was not only the world’s greatest artist, but also one of the greatest men who ever lived." - [x]
and there will come a time, you’ll see, with no more tears
and love will not break your heart, but dismiss your fears
get over your hill and see what you find there
with grace in your heart and flowers in your hair
- It’s always you and her, isn’t it… long after the rest of us have gone. A boy and his box off to see the universe.
- Well, you say that as if it’s a bad thing. But honestly, it’s the best thing there is.
#i do appreciate this growth arc though. ten never wanted - never could - leave any of the people he invited on board. in a way he wasn’t emotionally mature or strong enough. of course he let every one of them go in the end when it became clear that staying in the TARDIS with him was no longer an option… but never willingly. oh-so-human ten NEEDED them. and it’s not that eleven doesn’t need amy… but he understands now the cost of not letting her go. he has seen rose disappear into another world. he has left martha a family shattered by the memories they have of a world he broke in the first place. and he had to effectively kill his best friend - donna and her fighting spirit and the light of adventure in her eyes and her memories of their time together. he kept amy with him through so much. he got stuck into her and rory’s lives but finally - finally he realises that he has to STOP. that he has to let her grow up. to let her be safe. and as much as eleven makes this about amy growing up… it’s about eleven growing up too. he has played at being the raggedy doctor and amy’s hero long enough. for the first time in a long long time he chooses to say goodbye. ugh all the feelings in every universe there is. One of the most defining scenes of Ayrton Senna for me. He abandons his car in the middle of a race and runs across the track to help a fellow driver. Despite what a lot of people said about him, despite his sometimes ruthless driving, Senna was still human and still had one of the biggest hearts of any racing driver. He was mortally hurt when Roland Ratzenberger died the day before he did. Little did people know but Senna was heavily committed to improved safety regulations for F1 cars and that he was working on bringing back the drivers organization that worked for improved car design.
I find it even more amazing that if it wasn’t for Ayrton doing this, Eric Comas would’ve been killed that day. The car was leaking fluid and a very fast rate and the throttle was pinned wide open. The car would’ve burst into flames and caused Eric to burn to his death. Ayrton saved Eric’s life, and Eric acknowledged it afterwards. He was extremely grateful that Ayrton risked his own life to save the life of a fellow living creature.
ALL THE FEELINGS.
Did you say it? ‘I love you’; ‘I don’t ever want to live without you’; ‘You changed my life’. Did you say it? Make a plan. Set a goal. Work toward it. But every now and then, look around, drink it in, ‘cause this is it. It might all be gone tomorrow.
